"...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:31
Do not grow weary with fasting, The temptation to coast through these last few days will be great. Resolve to see this commitment through to the end, praying with just as much fervor as when you started. Finish strong. This is the mantra, of sorts, that should be in your thoughts and on your heart. Finish strong. You are a finisher. I am a finisher. Because the strength to finish comes from the One Who goes before you, Who has already cleared the way and won the victory.
One of the most encouraging passages to memorize, about not growing weary, comes from Isaiah. When we "hope in the Lord..." It is hard sometimes to imagine what that hope looks like, tangibly, in the midst of temptation. Especially the temptation to quit doing something that you have already dedicated to the Lord to do. Like this fast, for example. When we believe that He is Who He says He is, and that He can do what He says He can do, that's hope. When we pray, and fast, and wait for God to move on our behalf, that's hope. Center yourself around hoping in the Lord, these last few days. Understand that you may not receive your answer, breakthrough, or change right away. But know this: God is a perfect God. His timing is perfect. Do not lose sight of that which you hope in the Lord for. His very Name is Faithful and you who hope in Him, do not hope in vain.
