Tot Soccer!

This morning Justice had her very first soccer game! It was super exciting to see her interact like that with other kids and have a great time. She even scored her first goal! Afterwards, she did a little curtsey. It was so funny! I guess princesses really can play in the mud like the boys... Great, because I don't know what I would do with a girly girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYDEN NOAH!

Today, my baby is two years old. WOW! I cannot believe that he is that old already! It sure doesnt seem like 2 years ago I had him. It doesnt seem like 2 years ago my girl was a baby herself!
Where does the time go?

Here are a couple pictures of Kayden this morning.
My handsome boy. I love his Lauchland blue eyes, and his cute button nose.... What can I say? Im the mom... I LOVE IT ALL!!
Look at that red curly hair! hasn't changed since birth!

Silly boy!!
This is his 'I really dont want to sit stil for your dumb pictures, mom" look. Oh, well.
I think he is stinkin cute anyways!!

Thank You, Father God, for allowing me to be a mom. For picking out these two amazing children for me to parent. I know they are not mine, but are Yours on loan to me. I appreciate the time that I have been given, and I pray that You would help me to never take advantage of one minute of their precious lives.
Today, God, I lift Kayden up to you. I pray that You would bless his birthday. That You would heal Kayden of his sickness that has been wreaking havoc on his body for these 6 long weeks. I pray that Kayden would come to know You, to love You, and to serve You. I pray you would equip me as a parent to lead Kayden to You. That I would draw my strength from You, the best parent, the best example in Jesus.
In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Whatthe......

Really, Julie? Really? You couldn't find time to update the blog since V-day?
Well...... sorry, everyone. I wish I could say that there has been a lot going on. Truth is, there has been a lot of nothing going on. Monday, February 15th we took the kids to Disney On Ice: Worlds Of Fantasy. It was completely wonderful to spend some time together as a family, and do something fun. We sat in the 2nd row, and saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and all our friends from Cars, Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Tinkerbell! Here are a couple pictures from our afternoon:

February 16th we met with a FPU coach, and financial advisor from our church. We set up a budget and to date have paid off one credit card, and are making good progress. The only thing that is unknown at the time is our housing situation. But I'll save the details for a later post!

February 19th and 20th I got to go see Patsy Clairmont in Modesto with my Aunt Anna. Pasty is so funny. She presents the Word in a way that puts everyone at ease. It was a terrific time. (Thanks again for inviting me to go, Aunt Anna. Love you).
The 23rd, Justice had her first picture day at school. Can't wait until March 11th, when we get to see the pictures!!
That's really all that has been going on, except the numerous doctor visits that we have undergone. My poor son has had a runny nose and cough for going on 6 weeks. The Doc thought that it was a virus, and tried to treat symptoms with Amoxicillin. Bad decision. My poor baby got diarrhea and a bad rash. So, we nix'd the medicine and are still dealing with the runny nose. 4 doctor visits at $15 each... You'd think they could figure it out by now! So after calling the doctor's office and leaving 2 messages, Im thinking it's time for a new doctor! Gggrrrr..........

Lent

Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and it marks the beginning of the season of Lent, which is concidered the most important season in Christianity. It is the beginning of a 46 day long period, ending on Easter Sunday. Traditionally, Lent is thought to be 40 days and 40 nights, but it hardly ever ends up that short. Due to the equinox and leap years, the time that is Lent varies every year. Most Christians decide to fast during this time, whether it be from tv or chocolate, everyone is encouraged to sacrifice something to remember -no, to celebrate the sacrifice Christ made on the cross. This year, I have decided to fast. I am giving up all food and taking only water from sun up to sun down. After sunset, I will fast Daniel-style. Fruits and veggies only. During this time of sacrifice, I am praying for a breakthrough. A spiritual breakthrough and a financial breakthrough. I am praying for Divine direction. I am doing what I feel called to do, to honor the Lord. I encourage everyone to get out of their comfort zone this year, and fast something. (my first fast 6 years ago was from chocolate over Lent, last year I fasted "my" time and read the Bible -cover to cover- over Lent). Celebrate your salvation by honoring the Lord. In the book of Matthew, Jesus calls us to give, pray, and fast. I pray the goodness of the Lord would surround you every day and that you would be moved in a mighty way. In Him, Julie

SuperBowl Party

Sorry this is a little late, but as you can see by my last post, we left Monday for Tahoe. So I didnt get a chance to share some pictures of our Superbowl party. Our dear friends, the Brucias came over, as did Kevin's dad Tim and his wife Ann, and our buddy Dan and his sweet girlfriend Jenna. We had an aboundance of food, and a great time. We are blessed with good friends.

Tahoe Getaway.

To celebrate Kevin's 30th birthday, and, kind-of, Valentines Day, we went to South Lake Tahoe overnight on Monday. We prayed for no snow, so that we could get home safe and in tie to pick Justice up from preschool. Praise God, there was only a tiny flurry, not even really worth mentioning.
Here are a couple pics from our quick trip:
We love staying at the Stardust..

Here is Kev and I outside the Riva Grill after dinner.

We were just being goofy, but I actually really like this picture.

On the way home, we stopped at a turnout to get a good pic of the Lake

We were blessed that it didnt snow while we were there. It made getting home safe and easy.

The Lord Provides

GeoTagged, [N38.08001, E121.29608]

Amen! So today, when Kevin and I walked into the sanctuary and got our programs, I noticed that there was something attached via paperclip. Let me just tell you how amazing God is: it is a new wristband! Not quite the same as the one that I had, but meaningful nonetheless. It is dark blue and has the words "Bear Creek Church BREAKTHROUGH 2010". Isn't it just like God? I don't know if you remember or not, but the reason I fasted earlier this year was for spiritual breakthough. So I am going to wear this new wristband now as a reminder that God ALWAYS provides, and that if I continue to seek Him, He will provide the breakthrough I am so despitately longing for. The picture is of the wristband on Kevin. Thanks for your prayers. God is ever faithful.

Finally Free!!!!

I am finally free to write my blog posts from anywhere and everywhere. Yes, I got the blogger app for my iPhone. I knew this thing would eventually come in handy! So be prepaired, faithful readers, I am on the move and ready to write!!

RIP BBB

I am in mourning. Yes, mourning. Mourning of my Blood Bought bracelet......
I have been wearing that special red rubber bracelet for almost 3 years now.
And today it broke. I have taken it off a couple times, and today I tried to take it off because the lady who was doing my manicure wanted to rub lotion on my arms. And when I went to take off my precious bracelet, it BROKE. It snapped. It is unfixable and unwearable.
I must say, I am definately a smidge more devastated than I originally thought that I would be.

If anyone knows where I can get a new one, please email me:  mrsjuiekent@yahoo.com

First Day Of Preschool!

Today, Kevin’s 30th Birthday, was also Justice very first day of Preschool! She is attending St. Peter’s in Lodi. We are excited for her, but also a little sad. Our girl is growing up. Aawww…… When we went to drop her off, I didn’t even cry! Matter of fact, I haven’t cried at all.
